Understanding Save File Storage:
There can be several explanations for why a save file is missing; the most important thing to understand is that Slime Rancher 2’s save files are stored locally. Exceptions include cloud saving features, such as those provided by Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation (Plus).
Steam Cloud Saving:
Initially, Slime Rancher 2 did not support Steam cloud saving. If playing on a different system your save files will still be on your original system. For help, see our transferring saves guide.
Steam Account Recognition:
If Steam fails to recognize the account ID, it may create a new folder for saves. Reinstalling Steam can correct this. Follow the guide to find your save files and check if you have another folder named “0” in your directory to check if this might be the case for you.
Xbox Syncing Issues:
If playing on Xbox or the Xbox App you may want to investigate if it is a syncing issue; please check with their support for more information:
