There can be several explanations for why a save file is missing; the most important thing to understand is that Slime Rancher 2’s save files are stored locally. There are exceptions to this; Xbox accounts sync to a cloud and enable Steam’s cloud saving.
However, Slime Rancher 2 did not initially launch with the option to use Steam’s cloud saving, so if playing on a different system, the save files will still be on the original system. If this is the case we suggest checking out our guide on transferring saves.

Another reason save data might not show up would be if it has trouble recognizing the Steam account. If it fails to detect the account ID it can create a new folder for the saves and not recognize the correct one. We’ve found that reinstalling Steam can correct this if that is the case - follow the guide to find your save files and check if you have another folder named “0” in your directory to check if this might be the case for you.
